Class Description:

  • Learn:

    • How to read and navigate sewing patterns, understand ease, and body vs. finished garment measurements

    • How to choose the right fabric weight, needle, and thread for your project

    • How to make adjustments on your paper pattern and cut fabric

  • Project: Anna Allen Pomona Pants (elastic waist pant featuring patch pockets and different rise and leg shape, width, and length options)

  • Sewing pattern, fabric, and notions (needles, thread, elastic) provided

  • Bring your own machine in working order (foot pedal, power chord, and bobbin!) - If you haven’t been on your machine recently, we recommend you refamiliarize yourself with it and bring your manual

  • Recommended for confident beginners - Sewing for Absolute Beginners or proficiency in basic sewing skills required with a couple basic independently completed projects encouraged

  • Class size maximum: 6 students

  • Ages 16+

  • Receive a free Open Studio session with sign up

  • VSAC funding approved (see FAQs for more details)

Cancellation Policy:

We reserve the right to cancel workshops or classes due to low enrollment, inclement weather, or instructor illness. We will try our best to update you of this change as soon as possible. You will receive a full refund due to a cancellation of this nature. If we need to cancel a single session within a class series, a make-up class will be rescheduled.

If you need to cancel because a class no longer works for you, please reach out to us at information@continuingthred.org or call us at 802.736.9493. We can issue you a full refund or credit towards a future class if you cancel 14 days ahead of the class start day. After this time, you will receive a 50% refund or credit if you cancel up to 8 days before the class start day. After this point, no refunds or credits will be issued for a cancellation, not showing up for class, or no longer attending class. Thank you for understanding this policy is in place to provide the most time and opportunity for someone else to fill the class spot.

Waiver:

You will be asked on the day of your class to sign a liability waiver
